I have been in art classes most every  summer since I was a kid and I still love classes and workshops, they are so energizing!  Along with sketching and painting on trips, I enjoy weekly plein air painting and sketching with friends.

I earned a B.A. in Art at the University of California, Santa Barbara, spent a summer semester at the University of Guadalajara Art School, and occasionally taught in the art labs of Los Alamitos, California schools.

I painted with a group of artist friends in Provence, France in ‘04 and ‘09 and in Umbria, Italy in 06.  Yearly visits to Hawaii and San Carlos, Mexico help fill my sketchbooks with pen and painted sketches, producing possibilities for many paintings to come.

I mostly paint with watercolor but I enjoy mixed media as well, using collage and crayon.  I only paint places and things I have actually seen and sketched, such as, outdoor scenes with close up views, floral designs in the Spring, beach scenes since I live near the coast of Southern California, and doggies and kitties anytime from any country.  I can always remember where I was and the feel of that day when I look at my sketches and paintings.

I love to use bright color and calligraphic line to paint scenes that express a fun atmosphere.
